CD Tudo em mim anda a mil
Produced by Paulo Lepetit and Zeca Baleiro, “Tudo em
mim anda a mil” is the third album of the Brazilian singer/composer Vange
Milliet.
Partner of important composers as Chico César, Zeca Baleiro, Itamar
Assumpção and the poet Paulo Leminski among others, Vange is
definitely one of the most creative composers of her generation. Signing five of
the twelve songs of the CD. As a singer, she explores her special personality,
been sweet and rude, humor and forceful. Swing is her mark. She improves
the melodies divisions, knows how to be unexpected and plays with the
instruments, using all the Brazilian music's rhythms.
At "Funkier than a mosquito's tweeter" by
Aillene Bullock, she surprises in a memorable interpretation
of the song recorded by Nina Simone at 70´s. The German drummer Marlon Klein (Dissidenten)
is the special guest. As a "new bossa nova"
she presents the poetry of Paulo Leminski, at the involving "Tudo
a mil". "Morena de Angola" by Chico Buarque, use peculiars percussions
like, bowls, mousehole, and bucket. An inspirited version of a Brazilian
famous song. At "Vou te convidar" -Vange/Baleiro- shows a " bumba-meu-boi" (northeast Brazilian rhythm)
mixed with the Benjamin Taubkin´s sophisticated piano. “Qualquer um”
-Vange/Alê Carvalho- uses a fragmented language to express the
actuality. Pay attention to "Seja Breve" by Noel Rosa, with João Parahyba
playing match box; to the ballad
“Sem pose” with the guitarist Edgard Scandurra and to "Maningue
Nice" by Vange and Lepetit, that brings a
marvelous sample of Mozambique's popular singers.
