The CD "O Samba é Bom" is the first album solo of the 82 years old
singer-composer, Antonio Vieira. "Mestre Vieira" is that
composers that just become recognized at the older years. It has been happened
frequently with a large group of musicians, especially at the poor countries.
The world have already saw the Buena Vista Social Club, and specifically in
Brazil, names like Cartola, Nelson Sargento, Nelson Cavaquinho, Clemintina de
Jesus and Batatinha. All of these musicians, now make part of the history of the
World Music or the Brazilian Music.
Recorded alive at January of
2001 in São Luís-Maranhão (northeast of Brazil), the album has some special
participations like the singer Elza Soares, the accordionist Sivuca, and the new
generation of Brazilian musicians like the singer Rita Ribeiro and the
singer-composer and producer of this CD, Zeca Baleiro.
The song "Cocada", gave to the author the "Best Song"
premium at "Prêmio Sharp", one of the most important music events of
Brazil.
With most than 300
compositions - among sambas, valses, boleros, and regional rhythms like baralho
and carimbó - he has a lot of things to say and
sing.
