
Brazilian
bassist/composer/arranger/producer, Paulo Lepetit, have as a characteristic, the blending
of the rhythm of his country with sonorities of the contemporary music of the world.
Resulting in a very special instrumental music. In
"Saculeja", his second album, he shows his instrumental work sided by
prestigious Brazilian musicians. The CD was nominated for the "Prêmio Sharp"
and deserved critical acclaim.
In
tracks like "Fela" the composer works with a very rich fusion among Spanish,
African and traditional Brazilian rhythms. This song honors Fela Kuti, the famous African
musician. Other remarkable interpretation from his second album, is "Sarará
Miolo" from Gilberto Gil, one of the most important Brazilian contemporary artists,
and "O Escurinho" a traditional old samba which receives here an unexpected
dress.
Zuza Homem de Mello, a very respected Brazilian critic says: "what amazes me so much
